Description
This series of sculptural mirror cubes brings together traditional Persian mirrorwork (Ayeneh-kari) and fragments of Persian miniature imagery in a contemporary geometric form.
Each cube is individually composed with hand cut mirror pieces arranged in intricate geometric patterns. Selected surfaces incorporate fragments of Persian miniatures, creating moments of narrative among the reflective structures. As light and the surrounding environment move across the mirrored facets, the cubes continually shift in appearance fragmenting and multiplying both image and reflection. The works reinterpret elements of Persian visual and decorative traditions through a contemporary object, creating a dialogue between geometry, image, light, and reflection. Technique / Medium
