Naime Pakniyat began merging pixel art with the traditional painting tradition of her geography back in 2016. Later, in 2022, she created her first short animated film, "Gambit," which tells the story of how a quiet village was turned upside down after the death of a simple pigeon. The film was accepted into many international animation film festivals, and in 2021, Pakniyat converted parts of it into NFTs. "Gambit" introduced a unique visual language to the crypto community, which is inherently retroactive in two ways. In its first iteration, it draws inspiration from Persian miniatures (the most famous examples of which date back to the 13th and 14th centuries), and in its second iteration, it pays homage to 8-bit art from the early days of the internet, a nostalgia that resonates strongly within the crypto community today. She aims to keep cultural elements from fading away by mixing pixel art ,as a modernity sign, with traditional aspects from ancient times.
